51300 Termination Protection Assembly

The 51300 Termination Protection Assembly is installed at building locations where cable location/monitoring terminations are required. The 51300 is used in the cable vault or at the building entry point to safely terminate two fiber optic cable armors. The assembly is pre-wired in an enclosure to allow for ease of installation at the building entry location.

Description

The assembly provides terminations for fiber optic cable armors under the control of 2000 or 4200 Cable Management Systems. These terminations include an LTU which terminates locate tones above 250 Hz and a 2230 STU which terminates the cable monitoring functions. Both the LTU and STU contain a high voltage surge arrestor that provides low impedance ground path for high voltage transients. Induced Voltage Filters are also included to provide a low impedance path to ground for induced 60 Hz AC current.
