2230 Sequenced Termination Unit

The 2230 Sequenced Termination Unit (STU) is installed at the ends of monitored cables and branch cables. The STU terminates the line to facilitate end-to-end testing of the cable sheath for all branches.

SKU: 2230STU Category:
Description

STU may be terminated in a structure or a splice closure. Input leads are present for moisture detection or security monitoring. Each branch cable is tested separately and in sequence to facilitate locating cable trouble. The STU does not draw any nominal current allowing monitoring of up to 20 terminations on a single cable. The STU is well suited for long haul and dense metropolitan cable configurations. Another version of the Sequenced Termination Unit contains a photocell which is triggered when the splice closure is opened and the contents are exposed to light.
