1107 Splice Sensor Unit

The 1107 Splice Sensor Unit (SSU) is a field coded device placed in splice closures or other outside plant equipment to be monitored for security or moisture ingress.

SKU: 1107SSU Category:
Description

The input leads are connected to either the Moisture Detection Tape or security switch. The first trace of water entering a monitored splice is sensed by the detection tape and causes the sensor to send a digital alarm over the detection circuit (armor or copper pair) to the Cable Monitoring System, where the signal is decoded and forwarded automatically to an alarm or maintenance center. Another version of the Splice Sensor Unit contains a photocell which is triggered when the splice closure is opened and the contents are exposed to light.
