Norscan’s Pawel Glowacki to Present at Upcoming Eurosensors Conference

Norscan Hardware Developer and recent Master of Science graduate Pawel Glowacki is heading to Paris to present at the upcoming Eurosensors 2017 conference.

Pawel will be showcasing some of his thesis findings in a conference abstract titled “Binary Zone Plate Infrared Spectrometer for Dissolved Gas Analysis in High Voltage Equipment.”  “My thesis focused primarily on the topic of infrared (IR) spectroscopy,” explains Pawel, “I wanted to take a look at designing and analyzing a novel IR spectrometer based on binary zone plate (BZP) technology typically used in X-Ray microscopy.”

It’s one thing to discuss your thesis with your peers and colleagues here at home, but Pawel says sharing his findings with the rest of academic world has always been a goal of his. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to present my thesis work to a wider international audience,” says Pawel. In addition to his own abstract, Pawel is a secondary author to his colleague, Elnaz Afsharipour, in her abstract titled “A MEMS-Controllable Fresnel Zone Plate for Miniaturized UV Spectrometer.

“We’re very excited to see Pawel’s thesis work garner international academic interest,” says Norscan President & CEO Ken Sontag. Congratulations Pawel, and best of luck in Paris!
