10 Dec Norscan’s 13th Annual Pancake Breakfast Charity Drive The Most Successful To Date!
Where has the time gone?
Whether you’re ready or not, 2015 is coming to a close. It’s at this holiday time that we host our favourite Norscan tradition, our annual Pancake Breakfast Charity Drive. Last Friday marked our 13th annual Pancake Breakfast, and the faint smell of bacon and pancakes is still lingering around the office today.
Instead of exchanging gifts around the office, every year Norscan has a big pancake breakfast and charity drive in support of Winnipeg’s Christmas Cheer Board. Each year, the self-proclaimed Norscan “Bacon Division” (aka cooks) go all out and serve up pancakes, bacon, sausages, hash browns, and more to our staff and their families.
The holidays are about surrounding yourself with those you love. For many of us, that means coming together to enjoy holiday dinners, exchange gifts, and maybe partake in the occasional eggnog or two. While we are fortunate enough to be able to do this, many aren’t able to do the same. That’s what makes the work of organizations such as the Christmas Cheer Board, who supplies food and toys to families in need so that they too can have a happy holiday, so important. We couldn’t be more thrilled to support them.
We’ve had tremendous success raising cash, food and toys in year’s past, and this year was no exception. This year we raised $2,195 in cash, along with a big box of food and toys, making it our most successful year to date!
Watch the video below to catch some highlights from the event, and be on the lookout for Jim Bender’s column in The Winnipeg Sun where he will be running an article on Norscan’s Pancake Breakfast. We will update our site and this article as soon as it’s live.
EDIT: Jim Bender’s article was in the Sunday, Dec. 13 edition of the Winnipeg Sun. You can view it online here:
With little fanfare, the Santa Bus re- joined our campaign last year.
On behalf of all of us here at Norscan, we want wish you a very Happy Holidays and thank you for your continued support. We hope that your holiday season is filled with
bacon and pancakes joy and surrounded by those you love.
Happy Holidays, and all the best in 2016!
